Japanese Crazies Maximum the Hormone Announce NYC Headline Show After Knotfest Appearance in LA

Maximum the Hormone NYC flyerOn Monday we learned the lineup for Knotfest, the Slipknot-headlined (duh) three-day festival to be held in San Bernardino, CA in October. The bill features some really awesome bands (and some crappy ones, too), but what most caught our eyes is the appearance of Maximum the Hormone, the most awesomely weird and weirdly awesome metal band ever. Though it turns out this won’t be the Japanese outfit’s first time ever in the U.S. as we’d originally thought, their stateside trips are very rare, so we made a little offering to Buddha to bring the band to NYC while they’re here.

Our wish was granted! Maximum the Hormone just announced a show at NYC’s Best Buy Theater on October 27th, the day after Knotfest ends. I’m completely floored that they’re playing such a huge venue (cap: 2100) — I’d expect them to play at Saint Vitus (cap: 220) and only fill it up halfway — but I’m assuming the show’s promoters know something about the band’s popularity that I don’t. On the other hand I just bought pre-sale tickets, so there’s that. Either way, I think shit’s gonna be INSANE and I CANNOT WAIT to watch the bonkers shit that’s gonna go down.

Pre-sale tickets are on sale now right here using the password OMEKO (what’s the point of a “pre-sale” if the password is public? but I digress). The “public” on-sale starts Friday at noon. “Omeko” is a Kansai-dialect Japanese slang word for vagina, by the way; I’ll bet the dudes in MTH are loving the idea of silly Americans typing in that phrase to buy their tickets.
